Matalie Griffin Rivard Deane

A member of Bozart Gallery since January 2002, Matalie is a native of Charlottesville Virginia and a graduate of James Madison University. Drawing and painting her surroundings shows her respect for the disappearing landscape that we all enjoy. She prefers water based media over oils for environmental concerns. Her fascination with animals and Central Virginia's landscape are often the inspiration for her art. Recently she re-incorporated her love of Celtic art and culture in her work. The Celts seemingly endless patterns revealed the design of the universe and the vital interactions of man and nature. Matalie's works are in collections throughout the United States and some of her Celtic dragons now happily reside in Wales.
