Hello! I'm thrilled to be a recent Bozart member and look forward to sharing more about my work this month here on Facebook! For my first post in this series, I want to share more about my painting process. I love working in layers - applying a textured ground, drawing an image, then adding and subtracting color to create a sense of atmosphere around the subject I am painting. My time as an educator for Golden Paints has increased my interest in exploring what acrylic mediums/gels/pastes could do to build a unique foundation for painting, so most of my work (whether it is oil, acrylic, or watercolor) is done on top of a textured acrylic ground. This post includes a series of photos that document steps of my process painting "I'll Meet You at the Summit".

Based on this interview you had with Amy Shawley, I noticed that she is an artist with a different approach when not comes to art. For her, she sees painting as adeep and sacred arm of expression that’s why it has to be respected by all people. She mostly focuses on color mixing. Some artists might not require too much detail on this field. Perhaps, that’s where her power is an artist; it is in the mixing and fusion of colors that keeps her art alive.
