Carol Williams

Carol was born in Northern Virginia and had the wonderful opportunity to regularly take the bus to D.C. with her best friend and explore the museums on the mall.  The art museums were a particular favorite of hers.  This is what ignited the fire within and created and love and interest in art.  The impressionists and post-impressionistic painters were a particular favorite of hers.   Her mother realized this and created an “art studio” in the basement for her. She would spend hours there creating, and it’s funny how things in life come full circle, as her husband made her current studio out of a large space in their basement, complete with all the necessities.
She went on to study music and graduated from Shenandoah University with a degree in music education and was a vocal major.  She
did quite a bit of performing, but always wanted to return to art in a more formal manner.  In the early 2000’s she regularly took formal art courses from Trilbie Knapp in drawing, pastel and watercolor.
She now devotes her creative pursuits to acrylic landscapes and abstract encaustic paintings. She has taken many in-person workshops as well as ongoing intensive instruction from Acrylic University with Jed Dorsey and Dianna Shyne online and in person.
Through life’s ups and downs, of which there have been many, through art she has been able to express deep emotions and create a version of the beauty she gets such inspiration from – nature!
