Artist Statement:
“Art for me is a process of experimentation, discovery, design and color. My goal is to create art that is inspiring and a delight to the eye of the viewers. I create with a Mixed Media genre new to the Art World, i.d., using melted crayons and fabric paint. Shaving crayons onto a canvas, a household iron is used to melt, combine and shape the colors into a design. The side of the iron and the pointed end of the paint tube becomes my brush. Bright colors, along with a 3-D effect, and much action, culminate in a work of art”. The pictures on display her are from Ms. Gondwe's "Zebra Series". "March of the Dancing Zebra Trees", 24" x 36" on canvas, received Best in Show at the Fluvanna County Art Association Annual Art Show in 2016. The two other photos are: "The Dancing Zebra Tree", 12" x 18" which received First Place at the Fluvanna County Fair in 2015, and, "The Frolicking Zebra Tree", 20" x 30".
