The actual painting is complete. If you look closely you will see the glazing for inside and outside the petals is done with the opposite colors from week 3. It was a lot of work but Carol is so glad she did all the experimenting and planning.

After much experimenting Carol finds paint colors (lower left) that play well together and glazing techniques that will produce the look she wants.
Before committing to watercolor paper Carol sketches on Bristle Paper and adds water soluble black marker to decide where to put dark, mid tone and light values in her piece.

Although the shape and value of this photo would make for a good painting Carol wants to narrow the focus to just three flowers for this piece. |
