Come meet celebrity artists including Sara Gondwe!!
Sara Gondwe is a self-taught, award-winning abstract artist in Charlottesville, VA. Using an unusual technique, she chips bits of crayon onto canvas or wood. Taking an iron, she melts the crayons using the side, tip and bottom of an iron. The result is brilliant colors and unique designs. The painting is then augmented with acrylic paint using the tip of the tube, often outlining with metallic colors. Themes include, Healing Trees, Meditation, Serenity and Nature. A Zebra Tree series shows trees jogging, dancing, laughing or stretching in an African sunset. Numerous awards include Best in Show at the Fluvanna county Art Association in Palmyra, first place at local fairs, including the VA State Fair. At the 2019 National juried exhibits she received two Honorable Mentions at the Fredericksburg Art Center and Purchase Award at the Spitzer Art center in Harrisonburg. I know that you guys have been preparing for Bozart 25th Anniversary Grand Celebration. It is going to happen this October 2020! I am hoping that everything will be fine by that time because of this pandemic that we have right now. Though it’s still months away, I am sure that the preparation that was made for the celebration was big already. To equate all the efforts of these people, the event should be pushed through and appreciated by people!
